Therese Uwimana, one of the community health workers in Kagina village asserts that health workers benefited from vaccinating from near the residents because its time saving in a sense of handling few children.
Four health workers in every village corporate to weigh and note down children's weight on vaccination cards, while nurses from health centres come and vaccinate registered children, adds Uwimana.
Uwimana narrates that some parents could ignore vaccination of their children in fear of making long distances and wait for long hours.
It is expected that a child who completes vaccination at 9 months is weighed every month until he or she is five years of age, to know if the weight matches his growth.
