The call has been made to Rwandans urging them to cooperate and tell the truth during the general housing and population census to take off in August 2012.
The 4th general census is due on August 16th 2012 and will end on August 31st 2012 with an aim of getting the new picture of the Rwandans and their social welfare.
While days before the census are numbered, the National Bureau of Statistics asks every Rwandese to recall every member of the family present or absent.
Prosper Mutijima, National census coordinator reveals that August 15th 2012 is the day chosen to put the census numbers on the homes so that the whole country gets the same picture.
During the press conference on July 16th 2012, coordinator Mutijima said that 15 days that will follow the first day will be for collecting information from every home in the country.
The national coordinator explains: "Nobody will be stopped from working. A data collector will come following the number placed on the homes. If he doesn't find anybody at home, he will leave a note asking for an appointment."
To get the right information, everybody must be present at the time of talking to the data collector, adds Mutijima.
The results will be displayed in December 2012 while the the standard information will be revealed after 10 months from the time of the census containing the general level of poverty in Rwanda.
Basing on the actual census results, Rwanda Bureau of statistics will make an Atlas on Geography and demography of Rwanda.
