Despite the effort by Ministry of health and its stake holders in sensitizing residents to sleep in mosquito nets, some residents in Rwanda do not use them though they get them for free.
According to some who ignore to use mosquito nets, it becomes hot inside the mosquito nets, others complain they get body rash or itchy skin all which doctors always explain their cause.
Some residents keep mosquito nets instead of using them
Venuste Niyonteze, aged 34 narrates he has never slept in a mosquito net because he never falls sick and it's for that matter that he can never allow a mosquito net in his house.
Similarly, other people especially students do not use them because the schools administration do not force them to bring them or provide them in the dormitories.
During the training that was held in Kabgayi recently, community health workers in Ngororero district explained malaria cases are many in health centres because some residents do not use mosquito nets.
Health workers ask skilled health workers to explain to residents about the excuses they give of not using mosquito nets.
