Competitions for fighting illicit drugs in dances, songs and poems between secondary schools in Northern Province "Ligue Nord" will proceed to the national level, it has been noted.
"Ligue Nord" took place on July 8th 2012 in Gakenke district where participant schools to make it to the national level were announced.
In songs, Inyange Girls School in Rulindo district became the 1st followed by Karuganda secondary school in Gakenke district.
Janja secondary school could not win because of failure in time management and long plays.
In dancing, a team of 12 years aged three boys called "Star Boys" and students of GS Kinihira in Rulindo district performed a song and won the first position due to the songs message and their stage conduct.
They were followed by Yvette Kwizera, a student from St Vincent secondary school in Musanze district.
In poetry, Violette Uwamaliya from Cyabingo in Gakenke district who is a poet writer in Northern Province and national level became the 1st followed by Leoncie Usabyimana.
Songs, dances and poems shared the theme "Drug use in schools is a taboo." Competitions will continue to the national level.
