Thirty police officers completed a five day strategic and management course in which they were taken through subjects such as planning, implementation, coordination and evaluation. The training was conducted by Rwanda Institute of administration and Management (RIAM).
Presiding over the closing ceremony, Superintendent Steven Rukumba the director of Training at Rwanda National Police lauded the good cooperation with RIAM which facilitated the training.
Rukumba noted that, Rwanda National Police has put much emphasis in training its personnel in order to address emerging crimes such as human and drug trafficking as well as cyber crimes.
He urged participants to put into use all the skills and knowledge acquired during the five days in order to help the institution move fast.
William Twagirumukiza, the acting director in charge of Unit Training at RIAM commended Rwanda National Police for its efforts in training police officers.
"This determination to train shows professionalism and a clear vision of the force," he said.
Speaking on behalf of course participants, Superintendent Johnson Sesonga lauded RIAM authority for its good hospitality and particularly the conducive training environment.
He observed that, the skills gained were crucial and shall be shared with fellow Police officers to sustain the force's mission.
Dr. Esechier Sentama, the course facilitator thanked course participants for their outstanding discipline and the overall enthusiasm to learn.
So far, 210 police officers have been trained by RIAM.
